Autumn Term 2: Mighty Metals
We worked very hard to follow instructions about how to make a banana milkshake. We then found out all about bananas – where they come from, how they grow, what recipes can be made from bananas. The Y3 children worked *incredibly* hard to show off their Computing skills when they created video adverts about bananas! Click each link to watch their videos.
During the Summer Term, the children in Year 3 learned about Ancient Greece in their topic, Gods and Mortals.
They read the story of Theseus and the Minotaur, and then created their own Minotaur masks using paper mache.
As part of their ‘Tremors’ topic, Year 3 have been working together to create their own stop-motion animations of volcanoes erupting. Click on the image to watch the animation!
The children in Year 3 are studying their new Summer Term topic, Tremors.
They went on a ‘rock hunt’ to find rocks in our own environment – check out their photo collages of the rocks that they found!
The children were then able to collect rocks from the school grounds. They found out all about the British artist, Andy Goldsworthy, and then worked in groups to create Andy Goldsworthy-inspired sculptures using the rocks that they collected!
The children in Year Three have been working hard as part of their new topic, Tribal Tales. They compared tools from the Stone Age with tools that we might use now. They then went foraging in the outside classroom to find materials to make their own Stone Age-inspired tools!
